At Base Camp Education, we offer tailored learning experiences and tuition for home-educated children, alongside monthly Wild Well-being fire circles and gatherings for adults. Throughout the year, we also host a variety of workshops and special events, open to everyone in the community.
Why Base Camp?
Base Camp Education is more than just a learning space - it’s a community and a sanctuary where individuals can unwind, learn, and explore before returning to their everyday lives. Like a mountain base camp, it’s a place to pause, prepare, and gather strength for the journey ahead - which is exactly why we’re called Base Camp Education. We aim to create a safe haven for both academic and mindful growth, harnessing the transformative power of nature.
Our Space:
Our log cabin sits beside a fire pit, greenhouse, mini forest school area with climbable trees, and a garden, allotment, and fruit trees. Chickens and guinea pigs often join in the learning! It’s a practical, welcoming space for group sessions, 1-to-1 tuition, and workshops all year round.

About me:
Qualified Teacher (QTS from Leicester University) since 2014 with experience teaching in primary and secondary schools in the UK and overseas. Head of Personal Development. SEN experienced, inclusive to all, and a Geography specialist
L3 Forest School Leader and Lowland Leader for the Duke of Edinburgh Award
Mindfulness coach and kids yoga practitioner
Trained in Ruth Miskin Phonics and the Curiosity approach
DBS certified / Safeguarding / Prevent / Outdoor and peadiatric First Aid trained / fully insured
MSc from Bristol University, BScEcon from Aberystywth University
